Composition: Each vial contains 1000,000 IU Penicillin G Benzathine

Mechanism of Actions
Penicillin's exert their bactericidal effects by preventing cell wall synthesis and Disrupting bacteria cell wall integrity .Penicillin impairs the development of bacterial cell wall by integrity with transpeptidase enzymes responsible for the formation of the Cross – link between peptidoglycan strands. With Benzathine penicillin adequate blood levels may be maintained for 7 days by one single injection because of the very slow rate of absorption

Pharmacokinetics
Absorption is delayed when the sparingly soluble repository organic salts (Benzathine penicillin) are administered parenterally. After absorption, penicillin's are widely distributed in body fluids and tissues. Penicillin are generally excreted unchanged, But fractions of a given dose may undergo metabolic transformations by unknown mechanisms

INDICATIONS
For the treatment of infections caused by bacteria sensitive to penicillin, in horses, Cattle, Sheep, dogs and cats, where long acting therapy is required.General indications include: clostridium.septicum,corynebacterium.pyogenes , staphylococcus . aureus, streptococcus . canis , streptococcus . equi , streptococcus . pyogenes
Upper respiratory tractinfections .Rhinitis , pharyngitis, ….

Dosages and Administration
Penicillin G Benzathine should be given by deep intramuscular injection

Ruminants (Cattle, Sheep, Goats): 44,000 – 66,000 IU per Kg bodyweight
Every 2-3 days
Horses: 10,000 – 40,000 IU per Kg bodyweight, every 2-3 days
Cats & dogs: 40,000 – 50,000 IU every 5 days

ADVERSE AND COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
Hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin's are the most common untoward reaction and can occur with any penicillin group
Allergic reactions to these substances are occasionally serious
Benzathine Penicillin should not is administered intravenously

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Various Penicillin's can inactivate invitro. Probenecid markedly decreases the tubular secretion of the penicillin

 Withdrawal time: milk: 3 days from last treatment

                            Meat: 60 days from last treatment

Store at room temperature, not exceeding 25º C. Protect from light
