Tetroxy 20 LA

Drug Category:  Antibiotic

Pharmaceutical Form: Sterile Injectable Solution.

Composition: Oxytetracycline base 200 mg/ml.

Mechanism of Actions:

Oxytetracycline is a broad – spectrum antibiotic, highly effective against a large number of pathogenic organisms. Its action is bacteriostatic and based on the inhibition of glutamic acid metabolism in the cells, thus blocking the synthesis bacterial proteins. Oxytetracycline inhibits most gram-positive bacterial, some gram-negative bacteria, rickettsia, mycoplasmas, spirochetes, protozoa and actinomycetes.

Oxytetracycline binds reversibly to bacterial 30S ribosomes and inhibits protein synthesis, perhaps by several mechanisms. Mainly, the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the acceptor site on the mRNA-ribosome complex seems to be impaired

Indications:

Tetroxy 20 LA is active against wide range of Gram- positive and Gram-Negative pathogenic bacteria, certain rickettsia. Tetroxy 20 LA is indicated in the treatment and control of a wide range of common systemic respiratory, gastro- intestinal, urinary, local infections, Metritis, pyodermitis, anaplasmosis.
