Lincomycin binds exclusively to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and suppresses protein synthesis. Lincomycin is active against Gram – Positive organisms including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium tetani, and mycoplama spp and clostridium perfringens
Drug Category: Antibiotic
Pharmaceutical Form: Sterile Injectable Solution.
Composition: Each ml of Solution contains Lincomycin base 50 mg/ml as
HCl & Spectinomycin base 100 mg/ml as Sulfate.
Mechanism of Actions:
Lincomycin binds exclusively to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and suppresses protein synthesis. Lincomycin is active against Gram – Positive organisms including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium tetani, and mycoplama spp and clostridium perfringens. Spectinomycin is an aminocyclitol antibiotic similar in action to aminoglycosides. Spectinomycin bind to 30 S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and suppress protein synthesis .Spectinomycin is active against a wide range of pathogens, particularly Gram – negative organisms and mycoplasma. Lincomycin + Spectinomycin is the all – purpose, ultra- spectrum antibiotic combination that offers effective protection against both gram – positive and gram – negative bacteria.
