Dosage form:Sterile Injectable Solution.

Composition. Iron (in a dextran complex) 100 mg/ml, Cyanocobalamin 100 µg /ml.

MECHANISM OF ACTIONS:
These metabolic actions are reflected in the importance of cyanocobalamin in:     
1- Maintaining normal haemopoiesis in the bone marrow and elsewhere
2- The formation and maintenance of the myelin sheaths of nerve fibers.
3- The protection of the liver in some species from the fatty changes normally caused by such compounds as the chlorinated hydrocarbons.
4- The maintenance of ovum and sperm production and , therefore , fertility .
5- The maintenance of healthy skin, brain and, pancreatic metabolism. In general, cyanocobalamin plays an important part in the maintenance of all tissues in which protein and nucleoprotein synthesis and fat conversion occur.

PHARMACOKINETICS: 
Cyanocobalamin is absorbed rapidly following parenteral administration. After absor ption the vitamin circulates in the blood for a period during which appreciable amounts are excreted in the urine . A proportion becomes bound to protein – small quantities are stored in all tissues but most is found in the liver.

INDICATIONS:For the prophylaxis and treatment of iron deficiency anemia, blood loss and other problems of haemopoesis. In the treatment of debility, inappetence and general Unthriftiness.
Also in convalescence and in metabolic conditions such as acetonemia and pregnancy toxemia

Dosage and administration: By deep intramuscular injection
Cattle, horses: 5-10 ml per animal.
Calves, foals: 2-3ml / 100 kg bodyweight
Sheep, goats: 1-2 ml / 45 kg body weight.
Lambs, kids: 1-1.5 ml. in Birth and then 10 days later.
Dogs: 1-1.5 ml & cats: 0.5 ml.

Adverse and common side effects:
Intramuscular injection can be irritating. Allergic reaction and anaphylaxis have occasionally been reported in people.

Warning: Do not use in human.

Drug Interactions: clinical response may be delayed in patients concurrently receiving chloramphenicol.

Pharmaceutical precautions:
Store below 30°C ,protected from light. Do not freeze.
