 Pharmaceutical Form:Sterile Injectable Solution.

 Composition: Vitamin B₁ 200mg/ml as Thiamin HCl

MECHANISM OF ACTIONS:
Thiamin is readily absorbed. After absorption,thiamin is converted, probably in the liver, into aneurine pyrophosphate (co-carboxylase).As such as ,it acts as a coenzyme for several decarboxylating enzyme systems, the most important of which is probably decarboxylase.This enzyme is necessary for the decarboxylation of pyruvic acid, well known as an intermediate stage in carbohydrate build-up or breakdown: when carbohydrate are a major source of energy the body requirements of aneurine increase.Deficiency results in loss of energy, a build-up of pyruvic and lactic acids in the tissues and decreased intestinal absorption of glucose.

 PHARMACOKINETICS:
Thiamin is readily absorbed after intramuscular injection. Very little is stored, the liver,kidney,brain and heart muscle being the main depots. Excess is excreted in the urine as a pyrimidine or as unchanged material.

 INDICATIONS:
Thiamine is used for the treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency in animals.In ruminants the most common manifestation of vitamin B1 deficiency is polioencephalomalacia. Response to treatment of ruminants is rapid.
Thiamin is specific for the treatment of bracken fern poisoning in horses.
Thiamine is used for the treatment of lead toxicity in cattle, sheep, and goats. Supportive therapy in acute rumen impaction in cattle and in azoturea in horses.
Thiamine is used for the treatment of lead toxicity and Ethyl glycol in small animals

 DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: By IM or slow IV injection

 Ruminant: 10-20mg per kg bodyweight.( for polioencephalomalacia )

 Horses: 1-5mg per kg body weight (bracken fern poisoning)

 Cats & dogs: 1-2 mg per kg bodyweight.

 ADVERSE AND COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:
Rapid intravenous administration can result in anaphylaxis.

 PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS:
Store below 30 ^OC, protected from light.
Do not freeze.
