Hyper Saline

Drug Category: Electrolyte

Drug Form: Sterile Injectable Solution.

Composition: Each ml contains 72mg of sodium chlorid

Mechanism of action:

The osmolarity of this solution is 2460 smol per liter and is used for rapid resuscitation of animals in shock. In calves suffering from hypovolemic shock and severe dehydration, this solution showed a good effect in their treatment. Hypertonic sodium chloride solution exerts its regenerative effects by removing free intracellular water and the gastrointestinal tract and sending it into the bloodstream. In this case, cardiac output is increased, mean arterial pressure is increased, and oxygen delivery to tissues and glomerular filtration rate are significantly improved. The beneficial hemodynamic effects of hypertonic sodium chloride are related to the following four factors:

1. Rapid increase in plasma volume or increase in cardiac preload

2. Transient vasodilation or reduction of cardiac afterload

3. Vaginal nerve-mediated reflexes that depend on pulmonary stimulatory receptors.

4. Increased heart muscle contractions. Activation of the pulmonary reflex causes general contraction of the arteries, muscles and capillaries of the skin, resulting in a diversion of blood flow to the central region of the body.

Indications:

Ruminants: dehydration, lactic acidosis after overeating with carbohydrates, acute peritonitis, abomasal diseases including displacement, twisting and accumulation of abomasum, acute coliform diaphragm, and acute septic metritis, diarrhea, pneumonia, severe weakness and anorexia over 24  hours Hyperthermia in calves

Horses: Acute diarrhea such as Salmonella diarrhea, hemorrhagic shock, acute esophageal obstruction, acute intestinal obstruction and overeating

Dogs and other animals: In cases that require increased cardiac output, such as hypovolemic shocks and severe diarrhea in diseases such as distemper and parvovirus, dehydration, etc.

Dosages and Administration Route:

4 to 5 ml per kg of body weight by intravenous infusion

Recommended tips:

1. To calculate the exact amount of hypertonic serum, first the percentage of dehydration of the animal should be determined and injected quickly (less than 4 minutes) into a vein.

2. Before use, the solution should be warmed until reaches the body temperature of the animal.

3. After consuming the solution, sufficient water should be provided to the livestock.

Contraindications:

Do not use in animals with renal insufficiency and severe alkalosis.

Withdrawal times: Nil.

Pharmaceutical precautions:

Store at a temperature below 25 ° C and away from light.

Packaging: 50,100 and 250 ml vials.
